Only four days ago this rocky area was full of sand.
After two days of severe wind and waves the sand has been totally removed to the west side of the beach
leaving a few of our beach chairs high and dry!

The move in the sand buried our beach chairs too, and the beach looked so clean and beautiful this morning.
Strangely it looked just the same way as it did a few days after Tsunami 2004 when the wave had swept the beach clean of leaves and rocks, it brought back some memories for me - my sympathies to any of you who lost friends or loved ones on that day.

Really windy with strong waves, most tourist boats and fishing boats stayed ashore.
This storm system in the Bay of Bengal may be part of the trouble!

Nice sunny weather but strong wind and waves.
In the South East of Thailand severe winds caused a sea swell that caused damage to coastal areas
in Prachuap Kiri Khan to Surat Thani, with the worst created in almost 50 years.

Windy morning, but that is normal at this time of year,
the wind goes down around lunchtime and the afternoon is usually calm (and hot!).
The strong waves cause a change in the beach.
The sand moves from east to west, and then 6 months later moves back again!

A beautiful morning, a beautiful day (mostly)
but a dramatic end came with dark clouds, wind and rain.

Windy morning again, and as always with the 'lom wow' or 'kit flying wind' that comes regularly at this time of year it was a wet boat ride to Bon Island - difficult taking photos - so just a sunset photo today!
Anyone seen kites for sale yet? I haven't!

The weather was great at lunchtime but the clouds turned up again late afternoon.

Great weather for the Phuket King's Cup Regatta today!
Strong NE winds and 1 meter waves, not ideal conditions for taking photos.

Yesterday started off really wet, got better in the afternoon and today we are left with cloud.
However the sun managed to break through around lunch time.

Although it was a sunny start to the day, clouds threatened.
By around 4pm the rain came accompanied by a strong wind that was to pass by within around 30 minutes. The rain stayed on a little longer.
